• Team Mtg. at this house
• Tess stayed late
• Dad called to wish him luck in Middletown game tomorrow
• Danny practiced in his backyard court
• He slipped on black ice & got hurt

Chapter 29

• Warriors started winning more games
• Danny watched a Vikings game, they didn't seem to be having fun, Danny glad he wasn't on that team

Chapter 28

• After the game Mr. Ross talked AT Ty, poking him in chest until Ty cried
• The Beginning of the end, that's how Danny would later think of the scene

Chapter 27

• Game vs. Kirkland started badly but Warriors got advice from Ty Ross & started scoring
• Warriors won the game after Danny sank the winning basket

Chapter 26

• Danny held a short but good practice 
• His dad reassured Danny that all would be fine with coaching & the big game against Kirkland

Chapter 25

• Mr Ross came over Danny's house before the team meeting to try to re-cute Danny for selfish reasons
• Danny says no he does not want to play for the Vikings
• Danny asked Mr Ross why he was talking to him like he was the big guy in town? and Mr Ross replied well I thought you wanted to play for a winning team
• Danny has meeting 
• Everyone votes for him to be coach and they all chant DANNY DANNY DANNY

Chapter 24

• Danny's dad suggested that Danny become the "new" coach
• Danny's mom was against it but the dad convinced her to let Danny coach
• Team meeting called to discuss it
• Tess & Danny told the team about the coach thing but told the kids not to tell parents until team meeting

Chapter 23

• Kelvin Norris showed up on Thursdays practice to come and coach the team
• Kelvin seemed a bit more strict than Mr. Walker
• After practice Coach Kelvin told them he wasn't coaching them for the rest of the season just that night
• Warriors parents tried finding a coach
• Danny reached out to Tess asking her to help them find a coach
• Before bed Danny measured himself, he had grown an inch 

Chapter 22

• Danny's dad explained that he let people feel sorry for him, but realized that's no way to live
• He came back to coach basketball for Danny & himself
• He admitted he was drunk during the first car accident that messed up the whole family
• His dad was not caught drunk driving the first time, he had never admitted it to his ex-wife or Danny until that night
• Danny's dad admitted to drinking too much after the first big car accident

Chapter 21

• Danny visited his dad in the hospital
• His dad said he wasn't drinking when he got in the car accident
• Injured right hip & shoulder, collapsed lung, broken ribs - needed operation
• Team visited Danny's dad in hospital after surgery
• Danny finally cried and asked his dad "why are you a victim of the world?" 
•  His dad said he is not a victim anymore. even though he's been playing one for a long time.
• Told him & his mom to pull up  a chair, he will explain

Chapter 20

• Danny and his teammates tried a new game
• Will and Bren got in a fight 
• Colby came in with cool high top Converse 
• They had a really good game against the sailors and they won
• final was Middletown 42 Seekonk 22
• everyone went to a pizza place to celebrate
• his father might have gotten in another car accident  

Chapter 19

• Spending Christmas dinner with his mom & dad at "soft" 2pm
• Some Christmas' his dad isn't around he wished his family could be like other families with lots of kids and a mom & dad
• Danny avoids this subject: Whether his mom would ever get married again
• He wonders what happened to his parents, what happened to the money and their marriage
• Danny bought his mom a bracelet
• Danny got a laptop & new LeBrons
• His mom did tutoring on the side to afford the laptop
• Do NOT lose anything, his mom said
• His dad showed up early for Christmas dinner
• Danny & his dad played video games
• His, dad gave him an official Spalding NBA game ball autographed by Jason Kidd, John Stockton
• Danny's dad drove carefully home after dinner, it was a good 

Chapter 18

• Danny meets up with Tess next day
• On his way there sees Ty Ross practicing even with a broken wrist
• Danny felt Ty played better with broken wrist then Danny
• Ty told him he believed him that it was an accident, Tess told him
• Tess & Ty take a photography course together
• Danny told Ty about the game the day before
• They played "horse"-  Danny with right hand, Ty with left
• All three walked to Candy Kitchen together, got along well

Chapter 17

• Danny's dad got better and was acting like his "good" self not grouchy or hung over or mad about work
• Hanesboro Middle School  - Warriors had a game
• Colby was tall always guarded taller girls, it didn't matter at this game they were actually doing well
• Pressing after every basket
• Colby was getting lots of rebounds
• Half-time was tied
• Still tied going into 4th quarter, 
• felt like real team for first time
• Danny scored first basket of 4th quarter
• more baskets, tied up again, then Hanesboro was ahead by one
• Danny's dad was encouraging and didn't yell, spoke quietly to team
• Danny felt forced to shoot the last seconds of the game
• Basket didn't make it
• Warriors lost game
• Danny's mom drove him home, let him sit in front seat
• Danny didn't want to be cheered up
• Went straight to his room, computer on, messages from Tessa
• played video games in his room & watched old basketball games
• He wanted to feel bad, he always remembered scores

Chapter 16

• Danny's dad was mad at a practice, he was short with Will
• He made them do suicide drills
• Danny's dad yelled that the boys weren't trying hard enough, not acting like a real team
• Danny even yelled at Colby, Danny's mom saw it & was unhappy
• Danny's mom & dad talked while he was supposed to be sitting in the car but he was listening in
• Danny's mom told his dad to stop drinking or stop coaching

Chapter 15

• Warriors were accepted into Tri-Valley league
• 12 official league games
• Danny was feeling sorry for himself because he didn't make the Vikings & his dad told him to snap out of it and focus on the Warriors
• His dad told him that he would get better as time went on
• Danny hadn't seen Ty in a while, he was hoping to see him soon
• Warriors were losing games badly
• Boys were feeling bad, everyone wanted to play them so they could win

Chapter 14

• Mr. Ross took Ty to hospital
• Teddy gave him a hard time
• Danny said it was an accident
• Will backed up Danny
• Teddy accused Danny in front of all the kids & parents
• Danny's dad & Teddy's dad had some words
• Danny spent more time in his bedroom feeling small
• Danny has a secret spot in his room where he measured himself
• Danny's mom updated him on Ty's condition
• Ty broke one bone in his wrist, operated, put a pin
• 3-4 months to heal
• Doc said if all went well then Ty MIGHT be able to play this season

Chapter 13

• Danny was hanging out with Will & they went to movies
• Danny's mom then brought them to the Candy Kitchen where they ran into Teddy Moran & Jack Harty & Buford.  Bullies. 
• Teddy was very rude & was insulting Danny & Will.
• They 3 mean boys started with Danny & Will.  Teddy insulted Danny's dad.  
• Danny made the first move and tackled Teddy from behind. They got into a fight.
• Danny was grounded for a week. No phone, no tv, no IM, no computer for the week.
• Danny's dad told him about scrimmage vs. St Pat "Vikings"
• Vikings were better & bigger then them but it would be good practice to see what they needed to work on
• Still waiting to hear if league was going to accept their team 
• Boys named team "Warriors"
• Lots of trash talk from Teddy during the game (he was on Vikings)
• Teddy kept giving Danny an elbow so Danny gave him an elbow back
• Teddy fell & tripped Ty Ross.  Ty fell on top of Teddy and broke his right wrist, his shooting wrist

Chapter 12

• Ty called Danny the next day to hang out, Danny was surprised Ty's dad agreed to let him hang out with Danny but  it was Ty's mom who said yes.  the mom's were able to arrange it.  
• Ty went over Danny's house, they played NBA 2K6 video game, talked about basketball travel teams & dream teams for fantasy basketball
• They boys played video games Ty said he would rather be on Danny's team.  
• Danny's dad was watching the girls travel team practice to see how good they were.  He noticed Colby Dames and is thinking of recruiting her.
• Danny's father is talking to Mr. Dames after practice & invited her to practice with them & be on the team.  Colby agreed to join the team.

Chapter 11

• Veteran's Day weekend - practice at 7am  - skins vs. shirts 
• 45 min into practice Danny's dad stopped them to go over man-on-man offence every so often
• Danny &  his dad saw Ty Ross watching them practice, then asked why he was there, Ty said he was curious about the team and wanted to watch.  Ty mom was working & was ok with dropping him off.
• Danny's dad asked if Ty wanted to practice with them since they didn't have enough kids for practice
• Ty's father picked him up from practice and got into a fight with Danny's father because he thought Danny's father was trying to recruit Ty onto his team. 

chapter 10

• Danny & Will made fliers & sent them out announcing try outs for the new travel team
• Will figured out how to set up a temporary website which provided info on the new team
• On day of try outs only 8 kids showed up: Danny, Bren, Will, Matt Fitzgerald, Michael Harden, Oliver Towne, Robert & Steven O'Brien (twins) so that was the team (so far)
• Danny couldn't tell difference between O'Brien twins
• Michael Harden's dad had played with Danny's dad on their  championship 7th grade team back in the day and wanted to be asst. coach, so he became asst. coach
• 3 basic rules set by Danny's dad: #1 if you are open shoot, #2 if somebody has a better shot then you then pass it to them, #3 have fun.
• Then made rule #4 keep shooting.

Chapter 9

• Danny's father was talking about contacting the Tri-Valley Basketball league to see if they have room for the team in the league
• His father is hoping that all the kids who didn't make the travel team, will join his team and eventually win the championship/tournament
• Money is an issue, it will cost money to rent the space for practices & for jersey s& to join a league

Chapter 8

• Danny's father comes over for dinner and says that he wants o live in Middletown and he wants to give up on gambling business  
• Danny's father also states that he wants  to create a second travel team at the Y
• And he thinks that their might be a possibility of another team that the league could squeeze into the season

Chapter 7

• Tessa and Danny went to the fair
• Tessa took lots of pictures and wanted to become a photographer for sports illustrated one day 
• Danny played a pickup game at the fair with people from his town and the other surrounding towns
• Richie Walker was watching them play with Danny's father
• Danny father and tyes father get into a fight on why Danny should be on the team
• Richie walker thinks to himself about making his own basketball team

Chapter 6

• Danny hadn't picked up a basketball for weeks

• Danny got upset when his mom brought up the subject of The Y team tryouts

• Tessa tries to get Danny to not quit basketball

Chapter 5

• The new wood floor that they had put down on the springs gym is as lumpier than a bowl of Quaker Oats

• The high school gym wasn't available because their was an art fair going on being run by the Y

• His father played a lot of sports when he was in collage

• He was secretly watching the team behind the stage
• Danny was sad because he saw the coach handing out brand new jerseys to all the players 

Chapter 4

• Danny imagines s if everyone has googled him to see how he didn't make the 7th grade travel team

• Emma brings up the subject about Danny not making the travel team

• His friend Will would always talk

Chapter 3

• He starts Googling his father because he was the champion of the national basketball world series

• Over breakfast Danny and his mom were talking about being prepared for what kids might say to him about not making the team

• Danny thinks it will be OK because he thinks that everyone wont make the team

Chapter 2

• Danny takes all his anger and emotion out on basketball that night

• He is really upset about not making his dads basketball team

• The dad has a scene of humor when ever he talks about it

• Jeff Ross a family friend calls to tell him that he didn't make the team
